Job summary

asphaleia is hiring a Tutor to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to 16–19 students, including ESOL learners. You will teach Functional Skills Maths/English and Pre-Vocational qualifications, plan a coherent curriculum, and support learners toward progression into further study or employment.

You will work in a collaborative environment, maintaining accurate records and safeguarding students while contributing to wider student experience and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience of teaching English, maths or ESOL to 16–19 learners.
• Level 2 English and maths or equivalent.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Relevant subject qualification in English, maths, ESOL, education, SEND or related field.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching and support aligned with FE standards.
• Plan and deliver a coherent curriculum enabling learners to achieve qualifications and develop employability skills.
• Be accountable for student outcomes and provide required support to help progression.
• Support students with SEND or additional learning needs and meet individual needs.
