Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Functional Skills Maths & English Tutor for flexible, part-time work in Newham. You will deliver one-to-one tuition and tailor sessions to learners with SEN needs, building confidence and progress in Maths and English.

The role requires at least 1 year of teaching/tutoring experience, right to work in the UK, and a willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check. PGCE/QTS are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience in Functional Skills Maths and English.
• Experience working with SEN students.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Adapt teaching methods to support students with SEN needs, ensuring lessons are accessible and engaging.
• Develop and implement personalised lesson plans that address individual learning gaps.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to students and their families.
• Create a supportive and motivating learning environment to help students build confidence in Maths and English.

Pay Rate: 25- 30 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
