Job summary

Stanmore College is seeking a Transition and Inclusion Officer to support learners at the start of their college journey. This 1-year fixed-term, 0.8 FTE role focuses on identifying barriers, coordinating transition plans and ensuring inclusion across learning support, safeguarding and Student Services.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people in education, safeguarding or pastoral settings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate an inclusive transition programme and transition meetings, visits and activities.
• Identify vulnerable learners early and assess barriers to learning, attendance and wellbeing.
• Gather information with schools, SENCOs, DSLs, local authorities and other professionals.
• Develop personalised transition arrangements for students requiring additional support.
• Build positive relationships with learners and involve their views in planning.
• Work with curriculum, safeguarding and Student Services teams to ensure appropriate support.
• Help learners access financial assistance, bursaries, travel and wellbeing services.
• Monitor attendance, engagement and wellbeing of learners under enhanced transition.
• Maintain records and use data to identify barriers and improvement areas.
• Contribute to inclusion, safeguarding and quality improvement activities.
• Participate in open events and transition activities to support learner engagement.
