Teaching Personnel in Salford is recruiting an Inclusion & SEN Support Assistant to join a welcoming SEN school on a full-time, immediate-start basis. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with diverse needs and help deliver personalised activities under guidance from teaching staff.

Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families, you will promote inclusion, monitor progress, and contribute to observations while maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in education, care, or youth settings.
  • Patience, resilience and compassionate approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Desire to work in inclusive education with vulnerable learners.

Responsabilités

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Deliver personalised learning activities with guidance from teaching staff.
  • Encourage pupil participation, independence and self-esteem.
  • Implement individual learning and behaviour support strategies.
  • Assist with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
  • Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, support staff, and families.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to pupil observations and reports.

Inclusion & SEN Support Assistant
Specialist Education Support Role | Salford | Full-Time | Immediate Start

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs to achieve their full potential? Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a dedicated Inclusion & Learning Support Practitioner to join a welcoming SEN school in the Salford area. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils with a range of moderate Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The school supports pupils who may present with needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, social communication challenges, and developmental delays. Staff work closely together to provide a nurturing, structured, and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional learning needs.
  • Support the delivery of personalised learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Encourage pupil participation, independence, and self-esteem.
  • Implement individual learning and behaviour support strategies.
  • Assist with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
  • Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, support staff, and families.

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, either in education, care, youth work, residential settings, or community services.
  • A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confidence managing a range of learning, communication, and behavioural needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, Psychology, or related fields are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
