Job summary

SfYP Inclusion Mentor role within Hertfordshire Services for Young People, based in Stevenage and St Albans, is a permanent, 37-hour-per-week post. Starting salary £32,578, progressing to £35,570 per annum, with opportunities for progression within the Children’s Services directorate.

You’ll work with vulnerable young people to address barriers to learning, liaising with families, schools and partner professionals to enable successful transitions to adulthood.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong ICT skills.
• Be proactive with the ability to advocate for young people and negotiate effectively with partners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one and small group sessions with clear aims and measurable outcomes.
• Support young people who are missing from education and enable their return to school or progression to post-16 opportunities.
• Build strong, positive relationships with young people to support meaningful change.
• Work closely with parents, carers, schools and partner professionals.
• Represent the service confidently in multi-agency and team meetings.
• Signpost young people and families to appropriate services and resources.
• Work collaboratively with SfYP colleagues to ensure a holistic support offer.
