Job summary

Waulud Primary School in Luton is inviting applications for Assistant Headteacher - Inclusion Lead, a permanent, full-time non-class-based role. You will work with the headteacher to drive inclusion, remove barriers to learning, and lead on safeguarding as a Designated Safeguarding Lead.

You will influence school-wide provision for SEND, EAL and disadvantaged pupils, develop strategies, monitor outcomes, and build strong partnerships with families and external agencies to ensure every child

Qualifications

Outstanding leader with knowledge and application of positive behaviour strategies.
Experience supporting pupils with SEND, EAL and disadvantaged backgrounds.
Strong knowledge of SEND, including the SEND Code of Practice, and inclusion.
Leadership experience with high aspirations for pupil achievement and behaviour.
Inspired and passionate about learning with ability to motivate others.
Commitment to whole-school improvement with excellent organisation and communication.
Willingness to collaborate with external agencies and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the headteacher to develop a shared vision and strategic plan for inclusion.
Lead Designated Safeguarding lead responsibilities and ensure safeguarding policies are robust.
Provide inclusion services across the school and embed an inclusive, high-performing culture.
Work with leadership to meet Equality Act requirements and reasonable adjustments.
Lead on attendance, Pupil Premium, SEMH, and funding opportunities.
Monitor inclusion and safeguarding, report findings to the Headteacher and SLT.
Engage with external partners to support pupil needs and best practice.
