Job summary

East Coast College is seeking an Inclusion and Disciplinary Officer to oversee student and apprenticeship disciplinary cases at the Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft Campus. The role ensures fair, inclusive, and developmental processes that help learners reflect, repair relationships, and re-engage with their studies.

The postholder will collaborate with curriculum teams, safeguarding, wellbeing, and external agencies to coordinate support, monitor trends, and deliver training on behaviour management

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 in English and Maths and evidence of this.

Responsibilities

• Lead and chair Stage 2 and 3 student disciplinary meetings, ensuring actions comply with College policies through fair, proportionate, and trauma-informed decision-making.
• Develop and coordinate inclusive support plans, restorative interventions, and behaviour improvement strategies to help learners remain engaged, succeed, and achieve positive outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with curriculum teams, safeguarding, wellbeing, parents/carers, employers, and external agencies to provide coordinated support and guidance for students.
• Monitor disciplinary trends, maintain accurate case records, produce reports, and contribute to the review and continuous improvement of inclusion and disciplinary practices.
• Deliver staff training and guidance on behaviour management, restorative practice, and inclusion, while promoting safeguarding, wellbeing, equality, and a positive college culture.
