Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking an Advisory and Inclusion Teacher to join the specialist SEND and Inclusion Support Service. The role focuses on supporting children with cognition and learning needs and may involve working across multiple teams to promote inclusive practice.

You will provide consultation, assessment, and strategies to remove barriers to learning, liaising with schools, parents, and other professionals.

Qualifications

• QTS with up-to-date SEND knowledge.
• Considerable experience in schools supporting children with SEND, especially cognition and learning.
• Experience delivering training or workshops to professionals.
• Ability to travel between schools using own transport.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation, assessment, advice, interventions to remove barriers to inclusion.
• Work with Cognition and Learning, Motor Sensory Team and other SIS teams.
• Collaborate with parents/carers and other services to support pupils.
