Durham County Council is seeking an Advisory and Inclusion Teacher to join the specialist SEND and Inclusion Support Service. The role focuses on supporting children with cognition and learning needs and may involve working across multiple teams to promote inclusive practice.
You will provide consultation, assessment, and strategies to remove barriers to learning, liaising with schools, parents, and other professionals.
We are looking for an Advisory and Inclusion Teacher to join our highly valued and well-established specialist SEND and Inclusion Support (SIS) Service. We would be particularly interested in hearing from applicants with expertise in supporting children and young people, with cognition and learning needs. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will work within the Cognition and Learning Motor, Sensory Team, however, you will also be asked to work alongside other teams in our service, such as the Emotional Well-being and Effective Learning Team and the Communication and Interaction Team.
The role will involve providing consultation, assessment, advice, interventions and strategies to remove barriers to inclusion and promote the achievement of individual pupils and groups of pupils within educational settings. The role will also require you to work closely with other services and parent/carers.
