Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking an Advisory and Inclusion Teacher for the specialist SEND and Inclusion Support (SIS) Service in Spennymoor. The role focuses on advising and supporting schools to improve inclusion and pupil achievement within Cognition and Learning, Motor, Sensory, and related teams.

You will provide consultation, assessment and interventions, collaborating with other services and carers, in a multidisciplinary setting. A DBS check will be required upon appointment.

Qualifications

• QTS and up-to-date knowledge of SEND legislation.
• Considerable experience of working in schools with SEND and knowledge of strategies, approaches and resources for SEND.
• Experience delivering training or workshops.
• Your own transport arrangements to enable travel between schools.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation, assessment, advice, interventions and strategies to remove barriers to inclusion and promote achievement of pupils.
• Work closely with other services and parent/carers.
• Collaborate within a supportive multi-disciplinary team with wide expertise.
