Job summary

Tilbury Pioneer Academy is seeking an Inclusion Advocate to work at the heart of the school, identifying and supporting the needs of vulnerable pupils, including those with SEND and SEMH.

You will collaborate closely with the Inclusion Lead and SENDCo to implement consistent support strategies and act as a bridge between teaching staff, parents, and students to help them reach academic targets and develop independence.

Qualifications

• Experience in primary school and SEND support.
• GCSEs / O-Levels and Level 2 qualification; Level 3 desirable.
• Strong communication, ICT literacy, flexible approach.
• Understanding of safeguarding and SEMH practice.

Responsibilities

• Targeted Support: model inclusive strategies and scaffold learning.
• Collaborative Planning: develop Pastoral Support Plans with teachers.
• Mentorship: maintain daily contact with pupils to support attitudes and self-regulation.
• Early intervention: advocate for students and families; identify barriers.
• De-escalation: assist children in managing heightened states.
• Conflict resolution: help pupils develop social skills and resolve conflicts.
• Record keeping: maintain confidential safeguarding records using CPOMS.
• Partnership: engage with families and external practitioners to support attendance.
