Job summary

Think Education Partners Limited is recruiting a SENDCo for a leading independent Senior School in Essex. The role focuses on leading and developing learning support, collaborating with senior leaders, staff, parents and external agencies to ensure high standards of inclusion and pupil success.

The post requires QTS, substantial SEND experience in a secondary setting, and progression toward NASENCO/NPQ SENCO, with strong communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Substantial experience supporting pupils with SEND in a secondary setting.
• Hold, or be working towards, the NASENCO or NPQ SENCO qualification.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Have the ability to lead, motivate and develop colleagues.
• Be committed to enabling every pupil to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing SEND provision across the Senior School.
• Coordinating support for pupils with a range of additional learning needs.
• Overseeing pupil assessments, learning plans and intervention programmes.
• Managing Exam Access Arrangements in line with JCQ regulations.
• Advising teaching staff on effective inclusive classroom strategies.
• Working collaboratively with parents, pastoral teams and external professionals.
• Monitoring pupil progress and evaluating the impact of SEND interventions.
• Delivering training and guidance to staff to support inclusive practice.
