Job summary

Meridial seeks a Scientist – In Vivo Neuroscience in London to establish and run advanced in vivo experiments including survival neurosurgery and longitudinal two‑photon imaging in mice. You will develop protocols, refine imaging and optogenetic methods, and work with engineers and computational researchers to ensure high-quality data and open sharing readiness.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent experience in neuroscience-related field.
• 5+ years of in vivo two-photon microscopy in mice.
• Experience with survival stereotaxic surgery and cranial-window prep.
• Proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB for analysis.
• Track record of developing or improving experimental methods.
• Strong emphasis on animal welfare and 3Rs.

Responsibilities

• Perform survival neurosurgery in mice including intracranial injections.
• Conduct longitudinal in vivo two-photon imaging and optogenetics.
• Design and run experiments to map neural circuits.
• Oversee animal colony management and welfare.
• Develop detailed SOPs and QC criteria.
• Mentor junior team members and document studies clearly.
