Job summary

SENse Learning seeks Education Mentors to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support for the most in-need young people, across a variety of specialisms. Mentoring happens in students’ homes and community settings, with a focus on confidence, emotional regulation and life skills.

The role is self-employed with flexible hours and locations, offering competitive pay and a chance to make a meaningful impact in SEND education.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs.
• Background in SEND, SEMH, or similar support roles is desirable.
• Understanding of child-centred, holistic education approaches.
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people in homes and community settings.
• Provide one-to-one mentoring with creative, interest-based activities.
• Support development of life skills, confidence and independence.
• Apply trauma-informed strategies and monitor progress with families and schools.
