Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking Education Mentors to provide one-to-one support for young people with SEND. Roles include Education Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, and Learning Support Mentor, with ongoing rolling interviews and self-employed status.

Mentors work in homes and community settings, using creative, child-centered approaches to boost confidence, life skills and independence while safeguarding and maintaining reflective practices.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 2 years working with children or young people with complex needs.
• Background: Suitable for Support Workers, LSAs, TAs, Youth Workers, or related roles.
• Approach: Child-centered, holistic methods and flexible curriculum adaptation.
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references.
• Location: UK-based with right to work; remote/online work possible.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with young people to support learning and well-being.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities.
• Help develop life skills, confidence, and independence.
• Apply trauma-informed approaches and support emotional regulation.
• Provide feedback to track progress and adapt support.
