Job summary

Integra Education (North) LTD is recruiting Teaching Assistants to support schools across Wigan. This temporary, full-time role starts September and is term-time only, with a focus on pupils with SEMH and SEND and complex behavioural needs.

You will provide 1:1 or small group support, assist with lessons, monitor progress and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment. A Level 2 TA or equivalent is preferred, with GCSEs in English and Maths and a commitment to professional development.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at a minimum (C/4 or above).
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar support role.
• Experience supporting SEMH/SEND pupils.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Willingness to take on additional responsibilities (Forest School, lunchtime supervision, Food Hygiene).
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support or small group assistance.
• Support the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons.
• Monitor pupil progress and report concerns to the school team.
• Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
• Supervise pupils during breaks, visits and activities.
• Set and mark work where appropriate.
• Encourage positive behaviour and supportive relationships.
• Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
