Job summary

Hanwell Fields Community School in England is seeking a Teaching Assistant to work with teachers and pupils, supporting learning, behaviour management, and inclusive classroom practices. The role focuses on individuals and small groups within a 32-hour week schedule during term time.

You will contribute to creating a calm learning environment, assist with ICT learning tools, and support pupils’ social and academic development. A Level 3 TA qualification and GCSE passes are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• GCSE Math and English with a pass mark.
• Experience of working with children in a primary school setting.
• Interest or experience using ICT as a learning tool.

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals or small groups of pupils under direct supervision of teachers, providing feedback on progress and behaviour.
• Support pupils in understanding instructions and encourage independent learning and inclusion.
• Assist the teacher in managing pupil behaviour and keeping pupils engaged and on task.
• Support pupils’ social and emotional wellbeing, including basic care needs, reporting concerns as appropriate.
• Prepare and clear learning environments and resources, including photocopying and displaying pupils’ work.
• Contribute to pupil progress records and support monitoring of development.
• Escort pupils on educational visits and assist with break-time supervision.
