Job summary

Back TO Work is recruiting Teaching Assistants to provide patient, caring and consistent support to children with special educational needs in diverse UK schools. You will help pupils with learning, adapt activities to individual needs, and foster a safe, inclusive environment that builds confidence and independence.

With Monday–Friday hours across primary and secondary settings, you will work with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored assistance, communicate progress to families, and

Qualifications

  • Patience and empathy when supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Ability to tailor activities to individual learning requirements.
  • Experience using positive behaviour-support strategies where needed.
  • Strong team collaboration and communication with staff and families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient, caring and calm support to children with SEN and additional learning needs.
  • Support pupils with learning and development, adapting activities to meet individual needs.
  • Assist children with behavioural, emotional or social difficulties using positive strategies.
  • Build trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe, included and confident.
  • Work closely with teachers and the support team to ensure consistent and effective support.
  • Communicate progress and needs with staff and families.
  • Promote an inclusive classroom where every child is valued and encouraged to reach their potential.
