Job summary

Napier School in Farnborough is seeking caring Teaching Assistants to support learning and pupil wellbeing. You will work with teachers to deliver engaging lessons, aid social development, and help maintain a calm, nurturing classroom environment. DBS clearance is required, and safeguarding is a priority.

Experience in education, childcare, or similar support roles is valued. Applicants with a driving licence can assist with off-site activities and school events, contributing to a flexible team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils in education, childcare, SEN, or a related environment.
• A full UK driving licence to support pupils during off-site activities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to stay calm, positive, and resilient in challenging situations.
• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting pupils' individual needs.
• A willingness to learn, grow, and contribute as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually and in small groups with their learning, communication, social development, and emotional wellbeing.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging lessons and meaningful learning experiences.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help create a calm, supportive classroom environment.
• Prepare learning resources and support educational visits, enrichment activities, and school events.
• Monitor progress and celebrate achievements, helping pupils recognise and build on their successes.
• Provide support during breaktimes, lunchtimes, and other activities throughout the school day.
