Job summary

Napier School in Farnborough is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with learning, communication, social development, and emotional wellbeing. You will work with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and provide a calm, nurturing classroom environment.

This permanent role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, starting October 2026. A UK driving licence is beneficial for off-site activities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in education, childcare, or SEN.
• Full UK driving licence to support off-site activities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to stay calm, positive and resilient in challenging situations.
• Willingness to learn and contribute as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Support students individually and in small groups with learning, communication, social development, and emotional wellbeing.
• Work with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and meaningful learning experiences.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help create a calm, supportive classroom environment.
• Prepare learning resources and support educational visits, enrichment activities, and school events.
• Monitor progress and celebrate achievements, helping students recognise and build on their successes.
• Provide support during breaktimes, lunchtimes, and other activities throughout the day.
