Job summary

Napier School in Farnborough, GU14 6EF, is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with learning, communication and wellbeing. The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, with a permanent contract (term time options). Salary is £22,160.62 per year, not pro rata, starting October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils in education, childcare, SEN, or a related environment
• A full UK driving licence to support pupils during off-site activities
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to stay calm, positive, and resilient in challenging situations
• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting pupils' individual needs
• A willingness to learn, grow, and contribute as part of a collaborative team

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually and in small groups with learning, communication, social development, and emotional wellbeing
• Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging lessons and meaningful learning experiences
• Encourage positive behaviour and help create a calm, supportive classroom environment
• Prepare learning resources and support educational visits, enrichment activities, and school events
• Monitor progress and celebrate achievements, helping pupils recognise and build on their successes
• Provide support during breaktimes, lunchtimes, and other activities throughout the school day
