Job summary

Boots in the United Kingdom is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a store team, deliver excellent patient and customer care and drive commercial performance. You’ll coach colleagues, manage daily operations and ensure safety, compliance and strong stock control on the shop floor.

You’ll report to the Store Manager, balance people, performance and operations, and be ready to step into broader leadership roles across the business as opportunities arise.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a customer-facing environment.
• Proven ability to drive performance and deliver results.
• Able to inspire, coach others and manage performance.
• Strong planning for rotas, attendance, and workload.

Responsibilities

• Lead your team to deliver strong performance while delivering great care to customers and patients.

• Coach, develop and manage your team with regular feedback and clear goals.
• Oversee day-to-day store operations: planning, scheduling, staffing, workload prioritisation.
• Maintain high store standards: cleanliness, safety, and easy shopping.
• Own stock availability, cost control and loss prevention.
• Ensure audits, checks and risk assessments keep store compliant.
• Use data and in-store insights to identify opportunities and act.
• Lead store in the Store Leader’s absence and take decisive actions.
