Job summary

Wiltshire College & University Centre in Chippenham is seeking a Specialist Support Coach to provide tailored support for learners with additional needs. This role focuses on 1:1, small group and classroom interventions, helping students overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.

The position is permanent, full-time (37 hours per week, term-time plus 4 weeks), with a competitive salary of £23,247 rising to £23,734 per year. A strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with additional needs in education or related settings.
• Patient, empathetic and student-centred approach to support.
• Strong communication and teamwork to collaborate with staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to learners with additional needs in and out of the classroom.
• Deliver 1:1, small group and in-class interventions for diverse needs.
• Manage a caseload addressing attendance, study skills, and progression in English/Maths.
• Contribute to EHCP outcomes and support learner progression.
• Help students develop independence, confidence and essential life skills.
• Adapt support strategies to individual learning needs.
• Work with teaching staff to ensure student success and an inclusive learning environment.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
