Bournemouth Borough Council is recruiting two full-time Education, Health and Care Co-ordinators to support children and young people with SEND across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. You will manage EHC assessments and coordinate multi-agency involvement to ensure timely, person-centered outcomes.

You will work within a collaborative SEND service, applying safeguarding, welfare and statutory duties, with opportunities for professional development and a commitment to inclusion and fairness.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and families in sensitive or complex situations.
• Strong case management skills in a statutory environment.
• Knowledge of SEND legal framework or ability to quickly develop this expertise.

Responsabilités

• Act as the named officer for a caseload of children and young people with SEND.
• Manage statutory EHC assessments and reviews with timescales and quality standards.
• Coordinate joined-up assessment processes with parents, schools, health and social care partners.
• Champion the voice of the child or young person in planning and outcomes.
• Support families to understand rights and navigate statutory processes.
• Contribute to placement decisions, funding considerations and transition planning.
• Represent the local authority in meetings, annual reviews and mediation or dispute resolution.
