BCP Council is recruiting an Education, Health and Care Co-ordinator to support children and young people with SEND across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. You will manage statutory EHC assessments, work with families, schools and health services, and ensure planning reflects the child’s voice.

This full-time, 18-month fixed-term role offers meaningful work supporting rights and outcomes in a collaborative SEND service. Flexible working options are available where service needs allow.

Qualifikationen

• Experience with children, young people and families in sensitive or complex situations.
• Knowledge of the SEND framework or ability to learn quickly.
• Strong communication skills and empathy in challenging conversations.

Aufgaben

• Act as the named officer for a caseload of children and young people with SEND.
• Manage statutory EHC assessments and reviews within timescales and quality standards.
• Coordinate joined-up assessment processes with parents, schools, health and social care partners.
• Champion the voice of the child, ensuring views influence planning.
• Support families to understand rights and navigate statutory processes.
• Contribute to placement decisions, funding considerations and transition planning.
• Represent the council in meetings, annual reviews and mediation or dispute resolution.
