Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Secondary Teaching Assistant to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 within a network of local secondary schools in the Banstead area. Immediate start for term-time-long-term placements, with typical school hours and weekly pay.

You will provide subject support, mentorship, and pastoral help, assisting with literacy, numeracy, and exam access, while safeguarding and DBS compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Empathy, subject confidence, and ability to connect with teenagers.
• Experience in education, tutoring, coaching or youth volunteering.
• Proactive and resilient in a high-energy secondary school environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding and enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Targeted Interventions: Lead small groups or 1:1 sessions for literacy, numeracy, or subject work.
• In-Class Support: Assist teachers to manage classroom dynamics and support SEND students.
• Pastoral Care: Support emotional regulation and social skills for students.
• Exam Access Support: Act as reader or scribe for mock exams and assessments.
