Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Secondary Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Key Stage 3 and 4 within a network of local secondary schools in the Tandridge area. You will work under supervision to support learning, behaviour and pastoral needs.

This is a full-time, long-term role for term-time only, with weekly pay and daily rates in the £92.56–£95 range. Start date is immediate or at the start of the next term, providing an excellent pathway for those aiming to become teachers or

Qualifications

Strong communicator capable of explaining difficult ideas and building rapport with students aged 11-16.
Relevant experience in school, tutoring, coaching or volunteering with youth groups.
Proactive, resilient and able to handle the high-energy environment of a secondary school.
Committed to safeguarding and student welfare with enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

Targeted Interventions: Lead small breakout groups or 1:1 sessions for literacy, numeracy, or coursework support.
In-Class Support: Work with teachers to manage classroom dynamics and ensure access for students with additional needs.
Pastoral Care: Support emotional regulation and social skills development for students.
Exam Access Support: Act as reader or scribe during mock exams and assessments.
