Your Role as an Educational Mentor
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you aren't just an extra pair of hands; you are a vital link between the student and the curriculum.
Targeted Interventions:
Lead small "breakout" groups or 1:1 sessions for students who need extra support with literacy, numeracy, or specific subject coursework.
In-Class Support:
Work alongside subject teachers to manage classroom dynamics, ensuring that students with additional needs (SEND) can access the lesson.
Pastoral Care:
Assist with emotional regulation and social skills, helping students navigate the complexities of secondary school life.
Exam Access Support:
Act as a reader or scribe for students during mock exams and assessments to ensure they can demonstrate their full potential.
