Job summary

School-Home Support is seeking a Family Support Practitioner to work on site at St. Paul’s Secondary School in Birmingham. The role focuses on delivering casework to improve attendance, engagement and learning outcomes for children and families in a school setting.

You will collaborate with school staff, engage with families and carers, and contribute to safeguarding and supportive practices. This permanent, term-time role offers a structured induction and a cooperative team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in an education setting to improve attendance and engagement.
• Ability to engage with parents/carers and children through individual or group support.
• Understanding factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn.
• Experience working with families from diverse communities.
• Knowledge of safeguarding processes and referral routes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a programme of casework to promote educational outcomes.
• Work with school staff to support attendance, punctuality and engagement.
