Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Liverpool (L4). Immediate start for the 2026/2027 academic year, term-time long-term agency role with full-time hours.

You will support the class teacher, provide 1:1 and small-group help, and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment. The role offers a stable team, ongoing professional development, and a chance to make a real difference in children's learning and

Qualifications

Experience working with children in school, nursery, childcare or similar setting is desirable.
Caring, patient and passionate about supporting young learners.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proactive, adaptable and able to use own initiative.
Willing to apply for Enhanced DBS Update Service (full support provided).

Responsibilities

Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils who need additional guidance.
Encouraging confidence, independence and active participation in learning.
Assisting with classroom preparation, learning resources and daily activities.
Supporting pupils' social, emotional and personal development.
Help create a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and the wider school team to promote positive outcomes for every child.
