Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking Learning Support Assistants to provide 1:1 mentoring and learning support for young people with SEND. Roles include Education Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, and Education Mentor across in-person, hybrid, and community-based settings in the UK.

These self-employed mentoring positions require at least 2 years of relevant experience, a child-centred and trauma-informed approach, and DBS clearance or willingness to obtain it.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex needs (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH, EBSA, trauma, PDA, mental health).
• Background: suitable for roles like Support Worker, LSAs, TAs, HLTA, Youth Worker, PA, or related care/education backgrounds.
• Ability to work in a child-centered, holistic way with creativity to tailor the curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings.
• Deliver creative and interest-based activities to motivate learners.
• Support development of life skills, confidence and independence.
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies for diverse needs.
• Model and promote emotional regulation and track progress.
