Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to provide one-to-one mentoring and support for young people with SEND across home, school and community settings. Roles offer flexible scheduling, part-time to full-time hours, and opportunities to work with a supportive team using trauma-informed approaches to help learners build life skills and confidence.

Applicants should have at least 2 years experience with children or young people with complex needs, DBS check or willingness

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH, EBSA, trauma, PDA, mental health)
• Background: Ideal for Support Workers, Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), Teaching Assistants (TAs), Higher-Level TAs, Youth Workers, Personal Assistants (PAs), or those with other relevant care or education backgrounds
• Approach: Child-centred, holistic approach with creativity to tailor curriculum
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references
• Location: UK-based with right to work, including remote/online work
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and safe learning environments

Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with children and young people who faced challenges in previous education settings
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities
• Support development of life skills, confidence, and independence
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies for diverse needs
• Model and encourage emotional regulation and provide progress feedback
