Job summary

Senploy is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a full-time post in Stockton-on-Tees. You will work with teachers and specialists to support students with diverse needs, delivering one-on-one and small group assistance to help them achieve personalised goals.

Responsibilities include developing learning plans, supporting in-class activities, documenting progress, and contributing to an inclusive, nurturing learning environment. DBS check is required or ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Learning Support Assistant or similar role.
  • Understanding of child development and inclusive teaching practices.
  • DBS certificate or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised one-on-one and small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement tailored learning plans that address individual student goals.
  • Assist with in-class activities, ensuring that all students are actively engaged and supported.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and targeted support to help students overcome specific challenges.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation to track student progress and inform future planning.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and other collaborative activities.
  • Contribute to the creation of a warm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A strong understanding of child development, learning styles, and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the growth and development of young people.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
  • Proficiency in using technology and digital tools to support student learning.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • A valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate or the ability to obtain one.
