Job summary

Northern Saints Church of England Academy is seeking a committed teaching postholder to deliver high-quality lessons and targeted interventions for pupils. The role includes providing cover for absent teachers and planning engaging lessons in alignment with school objectives.

You will monitor pupil progress, give feedback, manage behaviour, and support SEND needs. The post involves collaboration with staff and contributing to the school’s inclusive ethos and safeguarding responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons and interventions to whole classes, small groups and individuals, including providing cover for absent teachers.
• Within an agreed system of supervision, plan challenging teaching objectives and adjust lessons and work plans as appropriate.
• Monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities using assessment strategies against learning objectives.
• Provide objective feedback and reports on pupil achievement with evidence.
• Record progress in lessons and activities and provide evidence of progress and attainment.
• Promote constructive behaviour under the discipline policy and support pupils’ independence.
• Produce lesson plans and worksheets.
• Assist with SEND Support Plans and support for pupils with SEND as required.
• Provide administrative support including displaying pupil work.
