Teaching Personnel is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Salford to recruit a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a role starting in October 2026. Qualifications

  • Previous HLTA or similar primary school support role.
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management.
  • Confident leading groups and delivering learning activities independently.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Proactive, nurturing and adaptable in approach.
  • Committed to inclusive education and helping every child succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned learning activities to whole classes in the absence of the teacher when required.
  • Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.
  • Lead targeted intervention sessions for individuals and small groups to improve attainment and progress.
  • Provide tailored support for pupils with SEND, EAL, and additional learning needs.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist with assessment, monitoring progress, and maintaining learning records.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and carers.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities, school events, and enrichment opportunities.
