Job summary

Aspire People is seeking an experienced HLTA to support a range of year groups and pupils with additional needs in Oldham. You will deliver planned lessons and run interventions under the guidance of the class teacher.

The role requires safeguarding knowledge, an enhanced DBS, and valid references. You will cover classes, adapt resources, and collaborate with therapists and staff. Competitive daily rates and flexible working offered.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or vulnerable adults with complex needs.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection understanding.
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
• References covering the last 24 months and an enhanced DBS on Update service (or willingness to obtain one)

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons and interventions under the guidance of the class teacher.
• Lead small group and one-to-one sessions to support learning and development.
• Cover whole classes during teacher absence.
• Adapt resources and activities to meet individual pupil needs.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and promote positive behaviour.
• Assist with personal care and emotional regulation where required.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and SENCO.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Contribute to the preparation of classroom materials and displays.
• Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are followed at all times.
