Job summary

Thrive Education is seeking two proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school in the Forest of Dean, supporting children with additional needs and delivering engaging lessons. This full-time role offers an opportunity to impact pupils’ learning and development in a dedicated environment.

You will lead activities, adapt approaches for SEND, collaborate with teachers, and help pupils develop communication and independence while building trusting relationships to celebrate

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent relevant experience and qualifications.
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND in a specialist setting.
• Confidence leading learning and supporting teachers to deliver an engaging curriculum.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach with ability to adapt to changing needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine commitment to helping every pupil feel valued and achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Lead learning activities and deliver lessons when required.
• Support pupils with a range of SEND, adapting approaches to suit learning styles.
• Work with teachers and other professionals to deliver engaging, meaningful learning experiences.
• Help pupils develop communication, confidence, independence and social skills.
• Provide consistency, encouragement and positive support when pupils need it most.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils and celebrate progress.
