Job summary

Thrive Education Recruitment Limited is seeking two passionate, proactive and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school in the Forest of Dean, supporting children and young people with additional needs.

As an HLTA, you will lead learning activities, adapt approaches to individual needs, and collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging, meaningful learning experiences while helping pupils develop communication, confidence, independence and social skills.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent experience/qualifications.
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally in a specialist setting.
• Confident in leading learning and supporting teachers to deliver engaging curriculum.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach adaptable to changing needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine commitment to helping every pupil feel valued and reach potential.

Responsibilities

• Lead learning activities and deliver lessons when required.
• Support pupils with a range of SEND, adapting approaches to individual needs.
• Work with teachers and other professionals to deliver engaging learning experiences.
• Help pupils develop communication, confidence, independence and social skills.
• Provide consistency, encouragement and positive support when needed.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils and celebrate diverse progress.
