Job summary

East Sussex County Council, in partnership with Citizens Advice 1066 and Seaview Project, is recruiting a Financial Wellbeing Adviser to support people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. You’ll provide practical advice, advocacy and casework to improve financial wellbeing and independence.

You'll work closely with housing providers and local services, delivering trauma-informed, person-centred support to maximise income and manage debt while maintaining respectful,

Qualifications

• Experience advising vulnerable adults on welfare benefits and debt.
• Knowledge of welfare rights and financial inclusion.
• Strong communication and advocacy skills.
• Commitment to person-centred, non-judgemental support.
• Ability to work with partner agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide welfare benefits, debt, budgeting and financial capability advice.
• Help clients maximise income through benefits and grants.
• Assist with rent, bills and debt management to maintain housing.
• Carry out holistic assessments and develop support plans.
• Collaborate with Seaview Project and housing providers.
• Advocate for clients to access specialist support.
• Maintain accurate records and service quality.
