Job summary

Citizens Advice 1066 is recruiting a Financial Wellbeing Adviser to work with Seaview Project, supporting people facing homelessness or at risk of losing housing. You will provide advice on welfare benefits, budgeting and debt, and develop personalised support plans.

Working with housing providers and local services, you’ll advocate for clients, maximise income, and maintain accurate case records in a trauma-informed, non-judgemental manner.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of welfare benefits, debt and financial inclusion.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults through advice, support or casework.
  • Understands the challenges associated with homelessness, poverty and social exclusion.
  • Can build trust and engage effectively with people who may be reluctant to access support.
  • Has strong communication, organisational and advocacy skills.
  • Is committed to delivering person-centred, non-judgemental support.

About the role

Citizens Advice 1066 is looking for a compassionate and motivated Financial Wellbeing Adviser to work in partnership with Seaview Project (https://www.seaviewproject.co.uk), supporting people who are experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness, or moving into settled accommodation.

This is an opportunity to join two well-established local organisations working together to help some of the most vulnerable people in our community. By providing practical advice, support and advocacy, you'll help clients improve their financial wellbeing, maximise their income, manage debt and develop the skills needed to maintain independent living.

About the role

Working closely with Seaview Project staff, housing providers and partner agencies, you'll deliver specialist financial inclusion support using a person-centred and trauma-informed approach. You'll build trusted relationships with clients facing a range of challenges, including homelessness, poor mental health, substance misuse, social exclusion and financial hardship
