Job summary

Citizens Advice 1066 seeks a compassionate Financial Wellbeing Adviser to work in partnership with Seaview Project, supporting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You will provide specialist financial inclusion guidance, assess needs, and help clients access benefits and financial support.

Join two established local organisations dedicated to improving financial wellbeing, income maximisation, budgeting, and independent living for vulnerable clients. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of welfare benefits, debt and financial inclusion.
• Experience supporting vulnerable adults through advice, support or casework.
• Understands the challenges associated with homelessness, poverty and social exclusion.
• Can build trust and engage effectively with people who may be reluctant to access support.
• Has strong communication, organisational and advocacy skills.
• Is committed to delivering person-centred, non-judgemental support.

Responsibilities

• Providing advice and casework on welfare benefits, debt, budgeting and financial capability.
• Supporting clients to maximise income through benefits, grants and other financial assistance.
• Helping people manage rent, household bills and debts to maintain stable housing.
• Carrying out holistic assessments and developing support plans.
• Working collaboratively with Seaview, housing providers and other local services.
• Advocating on behalf of clients and helping them access specialist support.
• Maintaining accurate records and contributing to high-quality service delivery.
