Job summary

The Portsmouth Academy is seeking a Deputy Attendance Improvement Coordinator to join our team in Portsmouth. You will support the Attendance Improvement Coordinator to reduce absence and ensure pupils have the best opportunity to succeed.

You will work with staff and families to improve attendance and punctuality, help develop initiatives to motivate pupils, and ensure attendance registers are completed accurately. This role offers a supportive and dynamic school community.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of attendance in schools, monitoring, recording and referral processes would be beneficial.
• Experience supporting attendance initiatives is desirable.
• Ability to liaise with parents and carers regarding attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Work with School and Trust staff, and parent/carers to improve and maintain attendance and punctuality.
• Support in the development and maintenance of initiatives to motivate pupils to achieve outstanding school attendance.
• Work accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring attendance registers are completed accurately.
• Be confident in liaising with parents/carers regarding attendance and punctuality matters.
