Job summary

The Victory Academy is seeking a Deputy Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Attendance Improvement Coordinator to join its pastoral and safeguarding team. This new role supports the Designated Safeguarding Lead with safeguarding duties and helps reduce absence levels to maximise student success.

The post requires working with children and families, maintaining discreet records, and liaising with multi‑agency partners to ensure timely, statutory actions. A collaborative, calm approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people and families.
• Strong record-keeping and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and child protection procedures.
• Ability to work with multi-agency teams with integrity.
• Confident in making referrals and supporting students.

Responsibilities

• Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in safeguarding duties.
• Triaging safeguarding concerns and responding to incidents.
• Assist with attendance improvement and monitoring.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure timely actions.
• Collaborate with staff to promote student welfare.
