Wilderness Way in Carlisle is seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to care for children in a safe, nurturing home. You’ll build positive relationships, support education, health and wellbeing, and help young people develop life skills and resilience.

Roles include Senior Residential Support Worker with mentorship opportunities. The company offers funded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, generous annual leave, pension, healthcare benefits, and an induction plus career

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals in care, education, youth work or a similar environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.
• Ability to work in a team and under supervision while delivering consistent care.
• Willingness to pursue Level 3 qualification if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children.
• Create a safe, structured and nurturing home environment.
• Support children with education, health and wellbeing.
• Encourage independence, confidence and resilience.
• Help children access new experiences and opportunities.
• Support children to express their wishes, feelings and aspirations.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to support emotional wellbeing.
• Work with Managers, Therapists, Outdoor Specialists and MDTs to achieve positive outcomes.
