Job summary

Connex Education Partnership seeks a dedicated BSL Interpreter in Birmingham City Centre to support sixth-form learners. You will provide interpretive support for deaf students, including some note-taking duties, to help improve focus and learning outcomes.

Role includes sessions around two hours per day, five days a week, with opportunities for additional hours and flexible scheduling. Minimum BSL level 3+ required, with experience working with young deaf learners.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young deaf people.
• Interpretation of complex terminology for sixth-form learners (Maths/Physics).
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide BSL interpretation for deaf pupils.
• Note-taking duties in addition to interpretation.
• Monitor student progress and provide session feedback.
• Collaborate with families, schools, local authorities and other professionals.
