Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd in Gosforth is seeking a dedicated BSL Support Assistant to assist deaf and hearing-impaired pupils in accessing lessons and participating fully in school life.

You will translate and facilitate communication, provide 1:1 and small-group support, and collaborate with teachers and families to promote confidence, independence and learning across the curriculum.

This is a full-time, long-term role with weekly PAYE pay and ongoing CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have a BSL qualification or relevant experience.
• Excellent communication skills and a patient, supportive approach.
• Ability to support learning across the curriculum.
• Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired pupils is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils who use British Sign Language.
• Translate and facilitate communication during lessons.
