Job summary

Bradford College seeks a Communications Support Worker to assist Deaf and hard‑of‑hearing learners across Further and Higher Education courses. Based in the Disability Services team, you will work under the BSL Interpreter/Team Leader and deliver interpreting, note‑taking and related support.

The successful candidate will be confident in British Sign Language to Level 3 and possess relevant GCSEs. This is a term-time, fixed‑term role with potential for part‑time job share.

Qualifications

• Must be confident in using BSL to Level 3 or equivalent.
• GCSEs at level 4‑9 in Maths and English, or be willing to demonstrate ability before interview.

Responsibilities

• Provide communication support, interpreting, lip speaking, note-taking for Deaf and hard‑of‑hearing students.
• Follow guidance from EHCP and Learning Support Agreements.
• Record learner progress and support deaf awareness within teaching staff.
• Assist with modification of written English.
• Support learners in examinations and assessments with approved arrangements.
