Job summary

Lexia Education Services in Yeovil is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and Special Educational Needs (SEN) in school and community settings. You’ll provide consistent mentoring, build trusted relationships, and model positive behaviours for students.

No teaching qualification is required; patience, empathy and commitment are valued. You’ll receive training, development, and opportunities to progress into contracted school roles

Qualifications

• Experience with youth work, coaching, mental health, social care, or creative sectors is valuable.
• Patience, empathy, and commitment are essential.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with young people is important.

Responsibilities

• Mentor 1:1 or in small groups to support SEMH and SEN needs.
• Encourage expression through creativity using art, music, sport or other skills.
• Support emotional regulation and resilience in students.
• Promote positive behaviour using trauma-informed approaches.
• Collaborate with educators and families to tailor support.
