Job summary

Lexia Education Services is seeking a Youth Behaviour Mentor to work in Somerset, supporting young people with SEMH and SEN in school and community settings. You will provide consistent mentoring, build trusted relationships, and help students re-engage with education through a blend of sport and academic support.

You’ll be welcomed, trained, and empowered to grow in a role that truly changes lives, with opportunities to move into contracted school roles over time.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with SEMH and SEN is preferred.
• Able to build trusting relationships with at-risk students.
• Willingness to be trained and supported to grow in the role.

Responsibilities

• Mentor students 1:1 or in small groups.
• Encourage expression through creativity (art, music, sport).
• Support emotional regulation and coping skills.
• PromotePositive behaviour using trauma-informed approaches.
• Collaborate with SENCOs, teachers and families to tailor support.
