Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer for a major civil engineering project in the Didcot area. The role focuses on drainage, utilities and quality assurance with a long-term contract and immediate start.

You will set out and survey, maintain as-built records, read drawings, and manage ITPs while coordinating with subcontractors and clients to ensure compliance with project specs. A valid CSCS card and proficiency with Leica or Trimble equipment are required; UK-based

Qualifications

• Experience as Setting Out Engineer or Senior Engineer in civil engineering.
• Strong drainage and utility knowledge including pipelines and manholes.
• Proven quality assurance and record-keeping with ITPs.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specs.
• Valid CSCS Card.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying for drainage and civil works.
• Provide accurate line and level control across the project.
• Produce and maintain as-built records.
• Interpret drawings and technical specifications.
• Carry out quality inspections and QA checks.
• Manage ITPs and related documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical issues.
• Support site management with engineering expertise.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, designers and client reps.
• Ensure works meet project specs and programme.
